I managed to somehow get the engine running. But im kinda stuck after this. How do you interact with the bots?

Firstly, thank you for showing interest in the Main Challenge and getting the engine running!
Regarding your question. Are you aware of our Build-a-Bot Workshop happening this Saturday? 
in that, we will cover everything that you need to get your bot up and running with the engine.
If you cannot make it, no worries. We will have the recording available there after if you wish to watch that. Or I can assist you further and point you in the right direction.

I noticed there a text files in Zooscape/StarterWorlds that look like this:
Is this the actual map and what is the meaning of the 1s and 2s ?
@RIa This is one variation of the map, yes. As to what it means, you can refer to the enum CellContents, found under Application/Domain/Enums.
1 = Wall
2 = Pellet
4 = Animal Spawn
At this point of the Game Engine, there are 8 different values that can show up on the map with different meanings.
