Portal Participation Settings

Hi, Why is the official tournaments unchecked by default on the players portal profile?
Or does it opt in when a successful build is submitted?

Hey there
This is a good catch! You’re right, it should not be disabled by default. We’ll rectify it on our end. If you have any issues or notice that your bot doesn’t seem to be participating, please let us know.

Hi,

Seems to still be the case.

I had to change my settings to opt in a few minutes ago, but it was after the midnight deadline. I assume my submission will not be included?

To be clear, I’d like for my bot to be included. But if the tournament has already kicked off, it’s not a trainsmash.

I do agree with this one,

The team normally doesn’t run the tournament for some hours before, so you should be good.

But I can imagine if a user did a lot of effort with their entry, and then are not on the leaderboard due to a profile setting, That could be troublesome.

Id say a user going through the effort of uploading and linking the Github is doing so to partake.

Hi

Noted, we will include you in T1 and are currently in the process of re-doing the OPT-IN for tournaments.
Could you kindly send an email to the Entelect challenge team so that we can ensure you are in the tournament. challenge@entelect.co.za

Kind regards

Hi,

Thank you, that’s very kind. I have sent through an e-mail for confirmation.

Hi everyone,

Quick update on the Safari Dash Tournament — everyone with a valid submission has been included in the tournament.

It looks like participants weren’t opted into the tournament by default, so we’ve gone ahead and flipped that switch to ensure all valid entries are included. If, for any reason, you’d prefer not to take part in tournaments, you can easily opt out anytime via the portal.

Thank you
