This is some crazy stuff,

I was looking at how the positioning on Friendlies shifted around.

I think this really is going to be a rough finals…
I expect to have dropped well from first place,

I have a few weird things still brewing.
The next 18 days will still show plenti of improvements.

And its crazy how these matches are:
I can kind of see them,

You can be first 3 rounds in a row, and then make a mistake, end last,
And your stuffed.

Or, Another player makes a mistake and an opponent capitalizes.
And boom… No hope of taking that match…

But you also cannot just sit idle while your oppositions take your land…

Such a twisted balance the team gave us this year,
I love it…

PS: Will we be getting our official Leaderboard soon:
Want to know if I need to go in with 200%, or if I can dial back to 180%…
:yum: :yum:

I just want to see what other contestants decided to do this year.
Im really excited for the challenge,
And to see some familiar faces.

Let the battle of the beasts begin…

Well done everyone!

Will the leaderboard for the tournament still be published?

I’m also interested in the leaderboard. Placed 1st in 8/10 matches in the last 2 friendlies, didn’t make top 4. Savage. @lijani_vwdv Obviously there were match verifications to make sure the Runner didn’t glitch out or lag, right?

Hi all,

Seems there might have been an issue in our thinking regarding tournament groupings as raised by @ScottSchultz here. We’ll investigate and revert ASAP.

Good news is that T1 is unaffected at this point as each participant played the same amount of matches

To answer your question regarding match failures, yes, all matches are checked and re-run if there were any failures

Im going to chime in here for a moment:

Best case it does not affect anything,

Worst case:
It causes a shift in players.

In that case it could be possible to do one of two things:
A) Redo the tournament fairly.
B) Extend the Finalist count,

B is a bit troublesome because a round robin between 8 players is normally 4 matches and each player plays each other player exactly 2 times.

Its a very nice balance for finals.
But it will not be impossible to do finals with 10 players.

Its a doozy but the team is pretty on point with their resolve,
Just thinking of the solutions that could cause the least amount of troubles.

Sometime these things happen.
And now we can keep it in mind for future Tournaments,

Percentage points could be a solution,
But lets not take the fun out of it for the team
We cant be the only ones having fun here after all…

I want to see what weird other contestants have brewed.

As a side note,

You could consider a rebalancing…
So if theres an uneven amount of matches, Let all bots that is a match behind play another randomly.
Let the lowest bots that have no chance to advance even if they win play against the reference bot to fill their numbers.

Its only really relevent to players whose position can be affected by this, So any bot thats 4 points under 8th place doesnt need an extra match.
